This Blue Rite Special guitar was made in Japan by Hiroshi Kido (aka Kid) as part of a limited run of guitars in the 1990's.  Kid's guitar shop built high-end replicas of guitars including a Red Special played by Brian May.  This model was made from a Yamaha Flying Samurai body and outfitted with Mosrite hardware and pickups.  The Blue in the name comes from the band Terry (Takeshi Terauchi) and His Blue Jeans.  During the '60s in Japan, Terry was known as the "King of Electric Guitar."  The Rite part of the name came from Mosrite Guitars which are often associated with surf guitar music.  Less than 50 of these guitars were made, making it a truly rare guitar to come across.  And this guitar is in really great condition.
